FC Gvirabi began the 2026/27 Imereti Hills League season with a 2–0 home win over Tetri Kva United on Saturday 3 October. Kote Gogitidze opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, turning in a low cross from the right, and Mikheil Sulaberidze made it two in the 71st with a shot from the edge of the area.
The Ropeway Ground was almost full an hour before kick-off. The cable car ran every ten minutes from the gorge floor, and the queue at the lower station was part of the afternoon. Goalkeeper Levan Chikovani kept a clean sheet, saving twice from long range after the break.
“We wanted to start the way the club was built: together, and without fuss,” said head coach Vazha Kobakhidze. Next up is a trip to Lomi Hill FC on Saturday 10 October.
