Midfielders Shota Chelidze and Aleko Putkaradze signed their first professional contracts on Monday 7 September. Both joined the academy aged eight and both come from families that worked at the mine.
Each has signed a two-year deal. “They learned the game in the old lamp room, and now they are playing at the Ropeway Ground,” said the club in a short statement. “That is exactly what the academy is for.”
